Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to our FAQ page for Castle Canine Care! Here you will find answers to commonly asked questions about our services and facilities. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us through the contact page on our website.
Am I able to have a look around?
Absolutely, contact us so that we can arrange a suitable time for a Meet & Greet, as we may be busy with the dogs or out on walks. Some of our guests are not great with strangers, so we will arrange it for a day that is suitable for our guests as well as yourself.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring your booking form, your dog's food (and any medication if necessary). If your dog has a restricted diet, please bring their treats as well. We have plenty of beds and blankets so these are not necessary, but if you feel that your dog will settle better with their own things, feel free to bring them along.
What if my dog becomes unwell?
We will let you know if something isn't right, and will contact your vet for advice or an appointment. If it is more serious and urgent care is needed, we can also use our vets which is Station House Vets in Welburn. They are only 10 minutes away.
What vaccinations does my dog need ?
All dogs must be up to date on their vaccinations, including, Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis, Parvovirus (DHP), Leptospirosis (L2 or L4), and Bordetella Bronchiseptica (Kennel Cough - KC). Canine Parainfluenza is preferred but is not mandatory. We will periodically ask you for photo evidence of your dogs vaccinations for out records.
Can my dog mix and socialise with the other dogs?
If your dog is friendly toward other dogs and you consent to your dog mixing with others on your registration form, we are more than happy for them to mix together in the house and on walks. Equally if you would rather your dog remains solo during Day Care, we can provide this as well.
I only require Ad Hoc day care. Can you offer this?
Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer Ad Hoc day care due to the high demand of regular places.
Is there a minimum age or weight requirement for the dogs?
We do not have a minimum age requirement for dogs staying at our facility, but we do require that dogs have received their full set of initial vaccinations, plus the shedding time. This means that they are usually around 14-15 weeks. There is no weight limit for dogs staying with us.
Will I be updated about my dog during the day?
Absolutely. We love sending you pictures and videos of your dog to let you know they are having a lovely time. If you have a busy day planned and would rather that we kept the messages to a minimum, just let us know.
What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 7:30am to 5:30pm. In order to make sure that dogs remain safe and secure, we only carry out two handovers at a time, so please arrange your times in advance, or be prepared to wait for a few minutes until there is a gap in activities.
